bethb's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- all hands on the beth b. (but not really please...) so, i think i'm gonna try to squeeze in Sleater Kinney tonight, because i'm in need of some r-n-r therapy. and by r-n-r, i mean, of course, rock 'n roll fuck that rest 'n relaxation shit. i have rhino heads to build for a show i'm doing at the art-o-matic. infact, i urge you all to check out www.artomatic.org and check out the schedule because not only is it art and poetry and theatre, but kick ass bands are playing too....like barcelona and i'm pretty sure i've told you all how ga-ga i am over them....and speaking of ga-ga..... i went to the galaxy hut with my co-worker/friend susan who i do like. i do. she's so super nice. but she brought along her friend christine who was one of those loud/beligerent/obnoxious drunks.....uh...yeah...so i'm in the back seat trying to shout directions to the galaxy hut over the musical stylings of vixen and skid row (oh, how i'm trying to teach susan....i am i am i am) she missed an exit and we had to back track and back way and back door back to arlington) and we miss most of the Darren Hanlon set, which is really what i want to tell you about. Oh, boy......he was like jonathan richman and franklin bruno and maybe a little john wessley harding all rolled into one small, very very very funny austrailian ball. I have his cd, so if you're interested in hearing it, ride with me in my car sometime. we can sing along....my two favorite songs from his set aren't on the cd, so i'm hoping he'll come out with a new 7" or cd or something soon, because holy cow is he a clever songwriter. and the saturday people were good too. no drummer, which, actually, i thought was ok for the hut. so....i'm gonna head out. xoxo beth b. 21:48:21 - 2000-09-27 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
