bethb's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- you may call her leather tuscadero i had a pretty nice weekend, which pretty much involved me staying away from people as much as possible. except for sunday when i went to Now! to see rebecca gates play. she played hawaian baby, and that really helped my mood. i just couldn't do man or astroman on friday. i was still grumpy and sore so friday was all about thai take-out and miss congeniality, which, all in all, was not that bad i guess. saturday i went thrifting by myself and scored big in the pyrex. i seriously love the goodwill on columbia pike. it's right by johanna's house, so after our lesson last week, i stopped by and thumbed through the records and found a batman tv-show soundtrack and probably the 2nd best-thrifted record ever. Suzi Quatro's first album. Who's suzi quatro? why, you may call her leather tuscadero. my first best-thrifted album is a copy of tony (perkins) sings! yeah. the guy from psycho. haven't listened to the tony perkins record, have listened to ms. quatro. it's kinda quaint how some rock sounds now 20 years later. there's an un-ironic cover of the beatles 'i wanna be your man'. all the while, i can still imagine her doing that hip-slap-gun thing. was that a suzi quatro signiture, or was that purely devised for her stint on happy days? does anybody know? xoxo -b. 9:45 a.m. - 2001-07-23 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
