two dumb surverys

ok, so i need some advice about a few thingies-
incase you don't know from my 487 mentions here, i'm leaving the country ("going across the pond" as they say. wait, does that only work if i was only going to england? can i still say it since i'm ending up there?) and there's a few really ridiculous things i'm having trouble deciding.

ok, so i have this little pink ipod. and it's cute. and it's weee and it's pink. and it's battery life is 8 hours long. boo hiss. apple decided to reissue ipods with an 18 hour battery life 2 months after i got mine. of COURSE they did. louder boo hiss.
so do i suck it up, take pinky tuscadero (errr....that's her name. to make it sound less pathetic i will tell you ryan calls his Dr.Theopolis) with me and her charger AND an adapter?
OR do i take the bulkier, not pink, semi reliable, runs on batteries CD player?
also, um....to sound totally stupid....batteries are the same over there as they are here, right?
of course another option is to not take any musical srource at all. i've done it before. when i went to italy, our teacher told us we couldn't bring any sort of personal listening contraptions. and i remember cravung they might be giants. i don't know why. i just really really needed to hear "hotel detective" when i was in florence.;
so do i opt to not bring anything ? i mean, it's just 10 days.
but then, it's also TEN DAYS.

and in a semi-related survey....i have a 6 song credit at itunes.
tell me what i should download.
