A is for ART

to add to the list of super smooth moves i've exhibited lately, please add:
yesterday when unloading furniture at the rehearsal hall with le mari, i slipped on a packing blanket and my foot went heel-first onto the street below kinda jamming my ankle and bruising my heel. it still hurts like a son of a bitch. i even got squishy heel inserty things 'cause today colleen and i played hookey and went to the childe harold for lunch and the phillips collection for the modiglini exhibit and then caught the ed ruscha exhibit at the national gallery. i was gimpy gimperson pretty much all day. i felt like a total maroon.
not as much as when i slipped in front of eric 'tho.
after i slipped we loaded my new sofa into my house and got icecream. there's no room for the new sofa as the old sofa is still there, but it's in the house....
also, on saturday, i went to the warehouse fundraising thing. with the purchase of a ticket you got a piece of art and there were some kinda big-ish in the up-and-coming-way artists who donated a piece so it's a pretty wise investment.
i was madly after a ryan hackett painting, but no dice. christine rupert got it. molly rupert got my 4th choice. her husband took my fifth choice (jose ruiz) . i got my 6th choice. painted by none other than le mari himself.
so on the way back to the prop shop, i told him "i saw your friend andrew WK on saturday" (aWK is my nickname for a curator in town who owns a couple of le mari's pieces. and one day when le mari and i were getting lunch we ran into him on the street, his hair and ridiculously bad suit led to his nickname...plus, he said he'd call E. and he hasn't) so le mari asked where i saw him and i said the warehouse and he asked if i got a sponsor ticket and i said i had. and he asked if i "got something good" or something like that and i said "um....yep. it was my 6th choice but yeah, i like it a lot" and he asked whose it was and i kinda quietly said "um....yours...."
i was really afraid to tell him because one, him being the 6th choice wasn't a matter of me liking it less than three of the other pieces i was looking at, it was just i know where he works and paints so if i really wanted a le mari original, i knew where to get one. i mean, aesthetically, it was probably choice #3.
the pliers painting was really cool too....

he actually said he thought it was cool that i ended up with it. and now he can take a picture of it.
man. this entry is all about art.
nice......

hey, two things:
anyone know anything about how to get a kids book published?
two: how do a keep a fully clawed kitty off of my sofa?
