sure signs of summer

i turned on the air last night.
ryan agreed the temp. warranted it.
we both got a late-night phone call (sexy!) from the landlord (not so sexy!) to tell us his cousin was going to come and fix some bricks on the stoop and the little retaining wall next to the garage.
i watered my garden (zinnia's almost in bloom y'all) and a truck drove by really slowly. then when i was getting a book out of my car it drove by again and an adorable little man straight outta super mario brothers got out. hat? check. overalls? check? italian accent? double check.
dominic my landlord's cousin.
my god he was cute....i bet he plays a mean game of bocci ball.
the fireflies are out. i think i was late in seeing them. but i saw a few two nights ago. i feel almost guilty never thinking about them in the winter. they always seem to surprise me in the spring and i think "hey! yeah! fireflies!"
a sure sign of summer.
also amongst the sure signs of summer: a backseat stuffed full of tshirts waiting to be silk screened for fort reno.
