what today hath wrought

what today hath wrought:
*a too-long car ride begining at the toll plaza after the harbor tunnel in baltimore and continuing with intermitent construction projects. I-95? F you.
*a lovely long dinner and coffee session with the one and only cristen K
*a lead-footed drive through the bucks county countryside while the sun tucked itself away and cool air rolled in so there was a lot of fog on the fields and the windows were down and WPRB was loud and the air was damp and smelled of green corn stalks and lavender.
*a trip to siren records where i found richard pryor, radio birdman and lionel hampton on vinyl. the new bloc party and stereolab on CD and the new bust in print
*an empty house of my parents where i can hear the bullfrogs singing to each other which sounds not unlike an ill-plucked chord. there's a certain twang. and an occasional "prrrrrrrrrr".
*an email from a friend and ex-crush who is changing DC for LA.
