not so lazy sunday
yesterday i went to beffesduh (not its real name) and spent some money on comics. a few stray bullets i've missed, the latest 'little star' which is moving so slow it might as well be going in reverse, ivan brunetti's 'schizo' and the new jason book. jason whose 'you can't get there from here' is one of the best things i've ever read. stay away from james kolchaka and jeffrey brown's 'conversation'. it's completely self-masterbatory for the two. and i'm souring more and more on kolchaka's stuff. also last night, robert pollard was at the 9:30 club, deer hoof and equally noisey bands were at the black cat, tina's band was playing the warehouse, and way out in virginnie was collin from the decemberists. literally any venue a good show. i thought about going to see bob pollard since jon w. was backing him and the rosebuds were opening. bitchboots was going to that show 'tho and i figured it would have been such a dude-fest. although probably the largest collection of late 20's-early 30's men i would have been in proximity to in a long time. instead i read comics and couldn't sleep to i ended up drawing stuff that is so blatently ripping off brunetti and jason that i actually pleased myself. so in reading the circulars from the paper this morning, i perused scanner/printers. went to office depot and bought one. this week i'll set it up and i'm one step closer to doing a web comic. i left the tv on downstairs and there's a M*A*S*H rerun. for some reason, harry morgan's voice is very comforting, coming from downstairs. also also, i saw not one but two bunches of balloons aloft in the wind today. i think the all yellow bunch got away from a harried realtor, the multi-colored one maybe blew off of a mailbox indicating a party. also also also, today i planted all my tulip bulbs and pulled all my dead plants out of the front garden and groomed through the dianathus. i also have three snapdragons that aren't dead yet which makes me wonder if they'll live all the way through to spring if it continues to be this mild.
