humane

i just called the humane society about mrs. mc stinker. i'm at the end of my rope. my options were to leave the situation alone (i should tell you that the dog is s.k.i.n.n.y. as in scary thin. as in absolutely frail) and hope the dog is ok and still worry about her and feed her on the sly; or to call the humane society and have them check out the situation and either take the dog away or scare that shitty family into caring for her; or take the dog to the vet and care for her myself.
option #1 would have me worrying about her all the time. option #2 seems dicey because what if she gets taken to a shelter or pound and i might not ever be able to find her again. and #3 is expensive and as much as ryan isn't happy with me know, he'd be not happy times 345 if i brought a dog home.
so #2 it is.
the other matter complicating all this is that it doesn't look like she's nursing her puppies. at all. i don't know what happens if a dog has puppies and they're taken away (or worse) and the dog can't nurse. how does a dog get rid of the milk?
