4 simple pleasures

to get my mind off the bad crap happening around me- some small things that make me inordinately happy:

the space-gun ZZZZZwwwwwwOOOOOOOP! noise the WaWa registers make when they scan your stuff.
the word 'groceries'.
when you pay with your ATM and the little number machine asks you to enter your 'secret code' and not your 'pin'.
the smell of old books. that papery, slightly vanilla smell of decaying knowledge.

i'd write about not good stuff- like washing my jacket and forgetting my rocket from the crypt pin (which i've had since 94) was on it. it's mostly ok...kinda puckery and brown around the edges...hahahahahah oh. bad.
but it's true. at least i can laugh about it now because i sure was upset about it when it happened.
meh. i'm going to keep throwing stuff away and watching steven colbert's speech at the white house this weekend. man, that's good.....the glass is 2/3 empty? fucking priceless.
cobert was probably the bravest man in town last weekend.
