favorite books of younger days

three times within this month "the mixed up files of mrs. basil e. frankweiler" came up. once with colleen, once while reading 'all this heavenly glory' and then once while talking with another friend.
it might be time to reread that book. and the bridge to terabithia.
you know they stopped letting kids read terabithia because of the death of one character?
that's sad. i can't even begin to estimate how many afternoons were spent running around my own back yard and across the creek with 'bridge to terabithia' in mind.
the whole book-banning concept to me is dumb.
maybe everyone should read farenheit 451 in elementry school...you know, start the distrust for government and love of books early.
and then follow it up with some bridge to terabithia and pippi longstocking.
