that damn cat

my props for the alice cooper finale were a big hit.
getting a pint-sized G&T from patrick set a good tone to the begining of the night.

getting hugs from ben adams and kendall and anil and photo dave last night was nice. one of the many reasons to love 'run for cover'.

i have a lot to do before i leave for chicago on thursday.
now i almost wish i wasn't going. but i do want to see mike and chicago. i wonder how much of the pitchfork thing i'll be able to stand.

today i recounted something to colleen where it's obvious that someone means more to me than i do to them. which is upsetting.
we went to a good used book store on capitol hill and i found a copy of the mixed up files of mrs. basil e. frankweiler. i didn't even have to hunt for it which was the most amazing thing. because that store is....literally dripping with books. but i went right to the kids section and bam! at my eye level there it was.
a wise person told me (this morning, actually, well, emailed me) that "he doesn't believe in coincidences". that when stuff lines up it's the universe's way of telling you you're on to something. i think he's right.

then collen and i bought those crack-addictive BBQ sammiches and ate them in the park across the street from my old apartment and tore the bread to tiny bits and threw them at tiny birds.
then i went back home to read some and drank iced tea and watched my cat be cute on my back porch.
it's like she knows when i need some happiness and pulls out her cute routine.
i love that damn cat.
