musical snobbery inside- enter at yo' own risk
i taped the premiere of SNL last night since for some reason, my stomach decided to have a party of its own which ended in me puking for a good 5 minutes last night. it should be noted that NO alcohol was imbibed last night. just chicken and potatoes and a tastykake pumpkin pie. it's seasonal! so something in that concoction my stomach wasn't happy with, or decided to show me a good time and bleh. so this morning i was going to watch the tape and my vcr said "you know what? i don't think so" and promptly ate it. that set the tone for a day which has involved a huge headache that is either from watching catch me if you can and most of the first season of arrested development while reading the paper and completeing the samuari sudoku. or it could be my newfound obsession with the game "poppit". which also hurts my eyes. so, part myopia, part headache, part puke, part i don't feel like being in a big crowd, part i don't really feel like driving anywhere right now i am not going to make it to crafty bastards. but the weekend isn't a total craft washout....i finally put something on my Etsy page. a hat. one hat. but at least it's something. my name is magpiedc if any of that makes sense to you. also, can we talk about internet radio for a sec? right now, KEXP is being very very good to me. but i swear to christ most of the time it knows when i'm on and plays crap. so i scroll through the other radio options in my itunes (which is probably the problem right there) but when you face lists of "stations" that claim "hard to find" musicians and i click on it and i'm given the barenaked ladies, i have to ask you, station, what the fuck are you thinking? at what point since 1995 has it ever been hard to find the barenaked ladies anywhere? infact, i'm pretty sure if i left my house, i'd trip over one on the lawn. another station was playing tool, another was playing (i shit you not) the alan parsons project. now, that station might have had "progressive" in their title to maybe i should give them slack, but seriously? the APP is no more progressive than Yes at this moment. and neither is difficult to hear on any number of "classic"/"jack" fm stations. awww...now KEXP is playing th'faith healers. and earlier they played the magic numbers whom i always love immensely when i hear them but forget to look their stuff up. ok, back to cleaning this sty of a room.
