i need a nap

I'm home and kinda tired. my garden looks slightly wilted and the skies look vaugely threatening. so i think it wll balance out.

this morning was slightly more hectic than anticipated. I checked out at 8 figuring it would take maybe 45 min to get to ohare, but instead took about an hour and a half. i don't know if the CTA was running incredibly slow or maybe i remember it being faster last time or what, but i was definitely stressing making my 45 min. before departure deadline for checking my baggage. I did make it. With 15 minutes to spare. Then i didn't have any coffee before getting on the CTA so i waited unitl i was through with security at o'hare so i was sleepy and missread the gate. not b4. b14. so i hoofed it across the terminal but i had time to sit and sip and spill and have one bite of bagel before united said "first class passengers? ok, EVERYONE ELSE" stampede.
at national they boarded you section by section. just sayin'.
my cat is demanding 5 days worth of attention.
some highlights for me:
saw slint. the craigslist guy was true to his word and sold me a ticket for face value, although i gave him $20 and he didn't have change, but i was ok with that. considering the short ass hat in front of me as i was waiting in line to get in sold a ticket to some guy for $55. i like slint and all, but i wasn't about to pay that.
mostly because you could totally stand outside and see everything.
i'd have to say, while there were a few bands i was desperate to see (slint, sea and cake, battles) there were more bands that i was merely interested in seeing (mastadon, stephen malkmus, new pornographers) everyone put on better sets than i expected. malkmus brought out Bob Nastanovich probably to the delight and confusion of people yelling pavement requests and then saying he wouldn't play any of those songs.
also, of montreal sounded mostly good, althought the stage show was dumb. i'm sorry, but it was.
most random sighting: board game guy. last year's was jessica s. i would have MUCH prefered to have run into jessica s again. she's awesome. boardgame guy- not so much.
go here for a blast from the past:http://bethb.diaryland.com/020305_44.html

he's apparently moving to chicago. i told him he was lucky. then he went away to watch of montreal, making me lucky.
and now to continue the marathon of live rock, i have to get up to fort reno and help marty move equipment since his truck died.

man, i need a nap.
