on the cover of this daily newspaper thing that's like the gossipy little sister of the washington post that gets handed out by metro stops was the headline "The Arctic is Screaming".
I'd like to take this second and address the scientist from whom that phrase was uttered:

Dear Scientist,
Maybe don't say stuff like "the Arctic is screaming" if you want us to take you seriously. I get the point, it's very dramatic, i'm just saying lay off the foofey prose and maybe err more to the al gore side of things and make us feel guilty about throwing out so much as a paperclip. i think you'll get farther. that's my whole point.

tomorrow night the 400 blows is playing in silver spring. i really love that movie. it's its last night so it's probably going to be packed, but i think i'm still going to try to catch the earlier show.
if i do that, i need to try to go to the gym before work, which isn't so bad. except for the people. i hate people.
