lot of reading

tonight i went to SA's fucking awesome studio to do paint samples for the war/peace show. then, since she lives spitting distance from dupont and likes sushi i suggesting going to the crack sushi place where we also tried the watermelon/eel/egg/avocado roll. which, sounds weird? yes. tasty? double the yes.
my favorite is still the mango/salmon/mint in the wasabi crack sauce that i actually feel guilty about introducing new people to it. i probably can't go more than a month and a without having it. and that's a long time.
on the way back we passed the great used bookstore and i saw a pile of old Peanuts in the window and i asked SA if she would mind if i popped in and looked because i'm always on the hunt for Peanuts books that have shirmey in them. they tend to be lighter on the lucy content and are just the sweetest, funniest strips ever. so we go in and i ask the dude at the counter (there were two, one of which is from a band i like quite a bit, but he was scribbling prices in the books) the dude at the counter was clearly not into having to put down his burrito to help me by reaching into the window and i explained that i'm looking for the books with shirmey and viola and blah blah and SA goes 'is he the one that plays the piano?" and i say 'no that's schroder' maybe a little too quickly and i hope that it didn't sound rude.

so i buy about 6 books and am so excited about these books i almost get run over once and then i realize how much of a fucking dork i am that i went on about the quality of old peanuts strips (but seriously? there is such a difference)in front of ant3l0pe guy, and we get back to the studio and i'm working on some paint samples and SA pulls out a book and says 'don't say i never gave you anything' (which is silly because the whole reason i'm doing this project is so i can have one of her encaustic paintings) and she hands me *another* peanuts book (bigger anthology) but fucking SIGNED by charles schultz.
pretty good night.
now if you excuse me, i have some reading to do.
