no i don't have a minute for the environment, and here's my burnt styrofoam cup to prove it.

i'm feeling better about things. if for no other reason than colleen totally rules and offered to help me today and it's only going to be 4 hours or so of painting.

and i'll get to see the fallout over the Tiny Chairs(tm). The carpenter showed up yesterday with furniture i requested friday night, but whateves. I'm looking at the chairs (which he built. and overbuilt) and i think to myself, good lord those look small. Average seat height is 18". It just is. It's an industry standard. These have seats which are 16" high, but that's not the truly terrible part. the worst is the seat. The chairs have arms which leaves the seat 14" wide clearance. At most.
take out a foot-long ruler and contemplate squeezing into that. because that's probably about 13".
So i called the PSM and was like -uh, is this a children's show? cause ain't no one over 10 sitting in these things. Certainly not with any kind of victorian costume. So i'm going to sit back and watch the mayhem. suggest a chair from ikea, and leave at 6. it's going to be kiind of awesome.

friday afternoon i went to see the portrait of steven colbert hanging in the portrait gallery because its last day is today. on the way there, i was short on time and these two clip-boarded ladies stopped me and said "do you have a minute for the environment?". I hate that question. they also try to get you at eastern market. And of course the answer is yes, but no. At least no to them. sometimes they make me so aggrivated i feel like burning a styrofoam cup just to show them how much time i don't have for them.
