oh yeah, this cold is coming in nice. i called in a very earnest and very real sick today. i made bacon and read sunday's paper. I'm going to go read today's paper now.
the night marchers were great and well worth the drive. i saw L and V from the black cat, I can't believe L remembers me, but she is really cool and V even bought me a drink. I didn't think she knew who i was at all, but apparently so.
I do have to say, Baltimore....what is UP with the leather jackets? Is it a Baltimore + John Reis thing, since I last saw it at a RFTC show at fletchers? Although those coats had belts. Last night it was more, leather barn coat.
Also, the pervy dude who is always at the all-girl shows was there taking pictures (not new) and wearing a cape (new). although to be fair, i think it was a piece of black nylon fabric. I didn't want to stare for fear of making eye contact. Reis called him out on it asking why he wasn't taking pictures of him since he has boobs too. He also handed out a dozen beers to the audience to everyone could shotgun them together but he wasn't messy about it.
he also yelled (well, snarked) at the singer from the girl who sang in the band before them (which, i have to say, the bill was REALLY bad...i missed hot pursuit and caught most of the band that formed with ex-red aunts (fine but ultimately boring) and then the baltimore band that went on right before the night marchers...had it been 1993, i probably would have been down with it but it was more annoying than listenable. She was super drunk and yelly and john snarked back "i couldn't understand you before and i can't understand you now. This is my turn".
when john reis tells you to shut the eff up, please do so.
