waaaaay too productive
I've accomplished a lot this weekend considering how ill i felt going into it. Thursday began the headache to end all headaches- it didn't fully leave until saturday morning.
right now as we speak, the mold for the cast meat is out side setting up.i don't have a lot of faith in that process as i'm not really one for casting stuff. I'm just not good at it. i'm better at carving something and then painting it to look like that it's supposed to be:
case in point: http://twitpic.com/1xqzt i've also made 6 owl bodies and made/finished one squirrel. i'm not sure how i feel about him. i think i'd like him to be more 3-d but that shit is hard when you're dealing with sweaters. i'll have photos of that some time today. i hope.
yesterday to celebrate not having a headache i went to eastern market, I thought maybe i'd get a crepe but the guy was sold out...by 2:30! i did find someone selling honey crisp apples which seems a little early, but hey, thanks science! honey crisp apples almost all year now. i went to the crazy person bookstore, in the mood for some klosterman, but left with a murakami. i'm not going to let myself start it until i'm done with infinite jest. or at least i'll try not too. the crazy old man at the counter (the one i'm convinced is responsible for all the crazy handwritten signs and 'jokes' (example: elizabeth Wuritz book 'bitch' might have a hand written placard that says 'Rosie O'Donnel's autobiography' or some volume of harry potter had a sign on it that says "ron weasley DIES!") made some comment about how difficult it is to find murakami books and i wanted to say "well, uh, it didn't look like you had any trouble judging by the tomes up there" but i just did my awkward 'hah-hah yeah' thing that i do with all idiot strangers. you know, out of respect for the elderly
