The sign at the fork in the road said straight on

So busy and happy and excited. I'm moving (3rd move in DC)back across the river to a super bright, super sunny 1br on the hill. Near a BBQ place and coffee shop and within trundling distance to H st. Bit of a schlep to Eastern Market but not undoable.
I'm in the process of tossing, donating, reminiscing and sneezing. And having a number of "holy shit, i live in DC" moments. Which sounds dumb from someone who has been living in the place for 12 years that makes them incredulous. I think mostly because I had weird, tertiary experiences to the city. And truthfully, when I think of DC, I think of it as the city Andy B.got mugged for his leather jacket in 1989 or so. Turns out Andy B still lives here. Maybe he's still holy shitting himself too.
I do sometimes wonder what would have happened if the McCarter had ever responded to my resume or if they even received it...maybe I'd be in NY now. who knows. It was definitely one of the moments where there were two paths and one prevailed. Although more so from the other person reacting (or not).
I'm going to NY in a few weeks (a few days after the move actually) to see Jawb0x when they tape for the jlmmy fall0n show-kim is putting me on the list, and I am about to lose my effing head with excitement. I'm going to try to see David Hockney's new paintings and maybe try to squeeze in the Tim Burton exhibit at MoMA too...man, 36 hours in NY and it's already packed. Just the way I like it!
