moving
I went to cape cod two weeks ago with my parents, revisiting when i lived in Chatham for that one summer. The theatre looks so much smaller closed up. THere was a car in the driveway with its door open. I didn't stick my head in for fear it would have been Alan R and he would have remembered me or it was his awesome wife Jan and she wouldn't. Or I would find out that Ted, when I worked there 14 years ago and was roughly 134 years old, had likely died. I took some pictures and scurried back into the back of my parents car where i spent most of that weekend yelling directions as my father would miss the obvious turn frustrating both me, my mom, and the navigation lady who would express her frustration by constantly saying "recalculating". I took to the eye roll and exasperated sigh. This week we're moving the studio to a new location. A fairly exciting space on a main corridor in & out of town but one you can actually stop on as opposed to the NY ave location. I am pretty excited. A pressed tin ceiling that's about 14' tall. Big open studio with no walls for the folks to hide behind... They are 'off' this week while we pack and move. I'm sure one or two will show up accidentally. We've sent home notes, emails and called houses letting them know we're closed this week for the move, but still...people don't listen.
