bethb's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- and they say the art of conversation is dead... ok, so....you know how i told you about those hooligans who could never remember my name, let alone barely meeting me? maybe, perhaps, the problem was them. maybe. just maybe. people like my friend jeffrey try to tell me that is *is* them, and pointed out my hello kitty watch as a token memory item, but i dunno. Today, outta the clear blue sky, i got an email from someone i went to high school with. it's not so unusual, because in the last 4 months, i've actually had about a dozen people contact me, and that's happy. this one guy tho....i'm pretty sure i know who he is. but for some reason, i thought he was in the year ahead of me. but i'm not too terribly sure. i'm usually pretty ok with names and people and places and faces. although lately, i'm having this 3 second recognition delay where it's taking a second to recognize where i know there person from: high school, college, graduate school, various summerstock theatres, various area theatres, bartender at frequented bar, member of band i adore, etc.totally weird. then last week, at the galaxy hut, i was introduced to some people, and this one guy goes, 'i saw you at the show last week, did you enjoy it?' and i was totally taken aback! maybe i tripped over something, or maybe i made a spectacle outta myself, but i tend to blend in and hide. i'm very sneaky that way, so it totally floored me when this guy said that....i think i may have uttered a classy 'whaaaa.....uhh...huh...aerialist? sure. it was a great show'. and they say the art of conversation is dead.... 17:51:56 - 2000-09-10 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
