bethb's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- confessions of a stuff girl ok, first- i would like to discuss my love of stuff. i am a stuff girl. come to my apartment, you can see my stuff....ask erik (foldskool.diaryland.com he's seen it) ride in my car, you'll have to move my stuff...This affliction is, of course, directly purportionate to my job as a PROP GAL. i make props. i find props. i buy props. and on my trips to find and buy, i do me some shoppin' for myself. Several years ago, i saw a copy of the Laverne and Shirley board game. I *heart* laverne and shirley. i *heart* board games- it was a perfect match. What was not a perfect match, was the price tag, so i waved goodbye, and went about my business. Not so many years ago, i found a copy of the Saved by the Bell board game at a goodwill in Asheville NC. (for those of you who know that area- it's the one the was across the street from that huge outdoor flea market, that i believe, now houses a 'super lowe's' or something. Anyhow, it was 1.99 so i bought it. because, i am after all, a saved by the bell- uh....affectionado. By the way, for a game based on such simplistic a tv show- the game is bizarrely hard to follow. Even fewer years ago, i found the Happy Day's board game- .99 cents. Now i was on a quest for the Laverne and Shirley. I turned to the internet. yes i did. and i found it. and it was five dollars. and it was in canada. and now it's here. 10 dollars later, it is here. So, nows i haveta haveta have a cocktails and board games party, so we can play the night away. and perhaps this time, i won't fall asleep in the corner after having pulled an all-nighter upholstering a couch for the studio theatre! whaddya think? (*yes- true story. the last time i had a party, i fell asleep in a corner) um...there was something else....OH! Ok, so i have some info on the Aussie Darren Hanlon. Check out his record label's page at www.candlerecords.com.au i'm totally serious about this guy. he's so clever. if you're into franklin bruno and nothing painted blue you will absolutely go NUTS over this. i'll have a better review of it in my zine. ( i swear i swear i swear) but damn. this cd is well worth the postage. trust me. xoxo beth b. ps. just found out- parasol distributes darren hanlon's ep as well. now you have no reason to not own it. unless, you don't like that sorta thing. whatever. 16:22:19 - 2000-10-01 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
