bethb's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- feelin' kinda froggy has anyone ever jammed their pinky? i did a week ago on friday. by last monday, the swelling was gone, but it's still kinda achey- is this normal? random stuff: on the drive home from work on the day of the noxious fumes, i saw what i thought was this MAMMOTH (5-6 feet!) lizard trying to shimmy up the side of a small white house. no lie. what it really was was the trunk of a tree that had been broken off and was sticking out of the ground at a jaunty angle.i do have to say, that it was rather dark....i'll try to apply that to my credit. sometimes my brain works in mysterious and frighteningly fast ways. i mean, i thought- how am i going to get past that lizard? what if it runs out in the road infront of my car? and alas, i am so totally serious. the stomach clenched, the adrenaline rushed, all for a half-second freak-out over an impending imaginary lizard. please don't sing big lizard in you back yard to me. ok, you can if you want to. i think it's funny. i made two friends this weekend! i think...kinda? Friday i played PopQuiz which is this trivia game that was hosted by Jason of Barcelona. i ended up being on the team of this girl erica, and it was really fun. she got the nitzerebb/yaz/michelle shocked questions and i cleaned up on the raincoats/MC5/apples in stereo questions. i hope i see her around. she was really nice. yesterday i had to play set designer, and i'll have to today too. it's such a small little show. it's more for the karma i think. but it's nice to do carpentry every so often. even if a lot of the carpentry we were doing was-uh....bad. saw bob massey at the hut last night. it's nice to hear him sing. also, an american workplace (the band that i thought was the re-tooled chirasauro) played minus about 75 of their band mates. nice. i wasn't sure how they were going to play, because the hut seats 48, and i swear, when i saw them at the art-o-matic, there were 48 people up on the stage. ok, maybe.....10-13 folks? there were a whole mess. lets just say that. a whole mess of rock-kids. but i ran into this girl that i often run into, and we were talking and laughing, so that was nice. so maybe i'm not such a social retard. i do wish i weren't so painfully shy. you know what's nice? knowing the bartender-ess.and pear cider. and 'taken care of' tabs. yep. yesterday was a good day. and tonight, if i'm feeling game- sweep the leg johnny and engine down at the black cat. we'll see. i'm feelin' old and achey today 12:53:30 - 2000-10-15 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
