bethb's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- hot snakes hot snakes hot snakes hot snakes...everybody's doin' it. it's friday. i played my some hookey today because when i awoke, i felt all cruddy. and it was friday, and shit like that just shouldn't be allowed. so i threw some laundry in the machines and slept some more and went to the national gallery to see me some art nouveau (no Gaudi. what's that about? i *heart* Gaudi the mostest) OH!!! but the raddest thing of all, is when you go up the stairs to the 3rd floor, where the Matisse cut-outs used to be, there's an honest-to-god,-holy-fuck, how-cool-is-that-life-scale-model of the Paris Metro gates. if you don't know what i'm talking about, open a book. if you do know what i'm talking about and can get your heiner to DC before January 28th, by all means do so. It's a fantasic exhibit featuring nouveau artifacts in 6 major european and north american cities. *and* they have sections of the exhibit where you see the influences of, for example, Rococo art and architecture and Celtic patterns. And they have painting and furniture and videos and litographs and posters and bookbinding and lamps and OH NESSIE! they have a whole frickin' tea room designed by Macintosh! Chairs! Tables! Windows! Coatracks! Sconces! everything! It's just how it's pictured in every interior design/architecture book i've ever seen. they have *whole complete rooms* i'mma gonna go back this weekend. But tonight are the hot snakes hot snakes hot snakes hot snakes hot snakes hot snakes. HOT SNAKES! So, can we talk about this pizza guy thing? Yeah. Haven't called him yet. Mostly because i'm kinda scared. i'm so not good about starting things. i also don't get the impression that if i just randomly turned to him and said 'hey- you wanna hop on the metro and go to National Airport and watch planes take off and land', that he'd be into that. I seriously love national. i also love airports. i dunno why. but i guess there's only one way to find out.... beth b. but not yet.
