bethb's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- dear mr. keane so, because *yes*, i do get obsessed with things, how do you do, i took matters into my own hands, and wrote to the kings features syndicate regarding Monday's Family Circus. This is what i said: Greetings! I just have one little questions regarding Monday July 9th's Family Circus cartoon. I get the joke about this Mr.Heywood character not being able to eat 'animal crackers' because as that adorable little scamp Billy says 'he's a VEGGIEterian', but what's the deal with Mr. Heywood's 'scratch and Sniff' sweatshirt? Is mr. Keane loooking to make his cartoons interactive? i certainly would be all for that! Imagine! Smelling what the mother from The Family Circus might be cooking in her kitchen! Perhaps 'Scratch and Sniff' is some sort of inside joke amongst the Keane-sters. And if it is, that's fine. I'm just really really really curious. Much thanks Elizabeth Baldwin I couldn't get as patronizing as i wanted, for fear they wouldn't resond back at all, so we'll see.I don't really want to smell the family circus, by the way. althgouh scratch and sniff comics would make my mornings more complicated. It's already hard enough trying to finish the post's crossword during clueless.sometimes i have to use up some of the Nanny's time. Also...it's looking like Bush (or 'the white house', as the post kept saying this morning) will *not* let the salvation army get away with this 'we don't wanna hire gay folks, but we'd love us some of your federal aid' bullshit.
