bethb's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- barcelona have you ever.....just...well...pretty much hated someone for really no good reason? last night at ft. reno, everything was fine. android g. played as his alter- alter ego maestro echoplex and really really sang. and then the pocket rockets played and were fine (although i still get really..um..queesy? sketched out? when i hear teenagers use language involving "spread" and "thighs". call me oldfashioned. that's fine. sarah azzara played and were even *better* then i remembered and barcelona started and life was brilliant, because my two favorite bands to see at ft. reno are barcelona and fugazi. (not together) there's just something right about fireflies and Korg keyboards and a castle turret in the background and cute songs about robots. and then *she* showed up. i have to confess that i know more about her than she does me. our paths crossed once about 5 years ago while i was doing a zine called if the shoe fits. and now to see this girl in all her ungraceful glory. well....*she* might have to be nicknamed martha grahm now. perhpas the artist formerly known as martha ghram will have to remain 'bean' and she will now be martha. I think there's probably 3 people who read this that understand that. but i don't care. she was so annoying and stupid that i actually had my hand clamped over my mouth so i wouldn't laugh out loud at her and her...uh...'entourage' i finally just left the front of the stage (oh. also, i'd like to thank her for parking herself right the fuck in front of me) and walked around to the side to get some water. i think next year, when i do ft. reno, i'm going to get a big cooler thing with a nozzle. like we used to have at soccer. that was we won't have to run to the bloody fresh fields for the over-priced water. i'm having moral dilemas with the f.f. i'm pretty sure everyone who shops there makes more in a month than i do in a year. i mean, that's the only explanation i can think of as to why they feel the need to run me over with their carts and cut me off.
