bethb's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- it just fits my car's cd player isn't working so i had to dig into my lot of cassette tapes for the drive this morning. i clung to cassette tapes for a loooong while. i purchased a few cd's before i owned a cd player ( i had a dance hall crasher's first album and sebadoh's smash your head on the punk rock) before i got this little tiny cute teeney CD player my dad got me for my 21st birthday, which was unceremoniously swiped last january. but honestly, by then the tape player didn't work so well and it was probably on it's last spins. but i loved that thing. the first tape i pulled out of the box was lois' strumpet. it was nice cozying up to that tape in my car this morning. it's funny how songs and/or the combination of songs will recall not just people but smells, temperature, emotions, anxieties. it was also nice to give hum's "you'd prefer an astronaut" a break. i've been listening to that for the last 3 days. i'm still pretty much in love with hum. but i'm in amood this morning, and strumpet just fit. 9:47 a.m. - 2001-08-23 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
