bethb's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- rock and roll shrinky dinks i've discovered something very important about myself. i am so totally into this whole "putting on a show" thing. it just fuels my need to win a mega-huge-ginormous powerball now, so i can start my own club/gallery that won't be financially dependant on the bands so i don't have to book it like the 9:30. thursday went so very well. all the bands were great! filo betto were just as scared as i was. i really hope good things come to them after that show. the black eyes were fucking mind blowing, and q and not u were infalliable as always. friday night at the black cat was our BIG benefit with the dismemberment plan and nazca lines and pocket rockets. everyone sounded great, we sold a good amount of shirts. the whole weird thing at the door when we got there was a little bizzarre. it was like none of the guys there knew what was going on. i wish denno or ann were working the door, but in the end it all worked out. saturday alicia and i went to this DC BBQ battle and ate BBQ'd food and saw joan jett. she is such a bad ass.so glad i went to that. i entertained the notion of going to the second plan show later on saturday night, but decided against it, and promptly passed out when i got home. yesterday, on a hunt to find stuff for a project at work i found SHRINkY DINKS! NO LIE! i bought the simpsons shrinky dinks. the only had disney princesses (feh) and monsters inc and the simpsons shrinky dinks. so last night i went over to colleen and alicia's and we made shrinky dinks! i still think they're cool. jeffrey had never heard? seen? of shrinky dinks before, so this was his first foray into the world of plastic that gets smaller (yet thicker) with heat. fucking genius. drinking beer and shoving plastic in the oven. tonight is night 2 of the fort. parlour scouts/kiss kiss bang bang/ cigarbox paletarium. weather looks good so far. fingers crossed fingers crossed fingers crossed 2:03 p.m. - 2002-06-24 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
