bethb's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- dear mt. ranier maryland, i hate you. so, remember how i went on once about semantic satiation? i've just been doing some research, and it's dawned on me, how stupid the words/phrase/whatever 'sewing machine' are. i am not sure why, it's just all of a sudden (another phrase i don't like) seems really stupid to me. and while i'm handing out the stupid awards.... Mt. Ranier! Office of Public Works! you're gonna get one too. why? because you totally dumped all of the plowed snow from otis st. into a pile completely blocking oak lane. making it completely impossible to drive up to the prop shop yesterday and today and it took three phone calls and a well placed "god forbid something happen to one of us....no firetruck/ambulance/etc could get through" before you drove your fucking back-hoe out here and made it passable. i'm tired of being ignored by this city. i'm tired of your phone systems that hang up on you when you're trying to get through to some one. i'm tired of calling mt. ranier and being refered to cottage city police who refer me to the prince george police who refer me back to mt. ranier. no wonder you lose so many of your residents waiting for rescue and your law enforcement agencies. you really don't make things easy for your citizens. that really needs to change. 4:09 p.m. - 2003-02-20 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
