rebecca westcott, you will be missed.
nice weekend. pumpkin carving party was a happy drunken success. just got sobering news about someone i've never met but always thought extremely highly of. rebecca westcott was an artist in philly. i don't think it's an overstatement to say that she and her husband jim houser pretty much singlehandedly breathed new life into the philadelphia art scene with their vision and gallery space 1026 on arch st. i guess she was coming home from visiting her mom in nantucket and got a flat tire and pulled over. way over. and someone with a record for DUI's and careless driving hit her. it's so disgusting that someone so careless can take out someone so good. this is a huge loss to her family and friends. philadelphia. the art world. human kind. i didn't personally know her, but she was definately one of my idols. doing what she wanted. living how she wanted. she was amazingly talented, completely inspiring and universally adored for all the best reasons possible.
