you know those chills youget when you're on the cusp of sickness? i had those last night. so i took howard stern's advice and got some airborne stuff and chewed a vitamin c tablet (not howard's recommendation, he pretty much stops at the airborne) and some other vitamin c-y stuff and only worked an 11 hour day yesterday. and i do feel better. so thank you howard stern and your cold symptom beating recommendations.

it's still not going to make tonight go any better, but it's a begining. there's still a lot to do and i've been waiting on the set designer for a good portion of it. so i guess saturday is going to be more of an intense day than i wanted, but it's mostly painting stuff and it's going to be sunny (IT IS! IT HAS TO BE)

today i had a ridiculous moment of work-dom. it involves this very very specific notebook and an actor and not being able to find a matching replacement notebook and ordering one from amazon.com and amazon.com subsequently fucking the order all up (and by fucking the order up, i mean balls-out-losing the order) and me losing my mind because i couldn't even talk to someone at amazon and then calling a small chain of independant bookstores who were either no help or evidently not able to read a ruler so i plodded around dupont circle to find any kind of small journal and say fuck it, i'll just paint it.
and as a treat to myself i went to crooked beat records and there was ian s. behind the counter in all his chatty glory. i really do like him. i should invite him to the pumpkin carving party. i bet spiv would come. if he could remember.
i got a sylvie vartan ye-ye record and the 'clap your hands and say yeah' which all the kids seem to be talking about.
it's ok. on first listen it seems kind of annoying.
not annoying: i will be going to the new pornographers on saturday. i will probably miss most of destroyers set which makes me sad. but i will get to see the pornographers (i'm hoping anyway....god i hope we're done by 11)

i can't wait 'til all this shit is done and i can get back to the important stuff...like preparing for the pumpkin carving extavaganza!!!
