snakes in a can
last night there was a bone-soaking rain at fort reno...which completely let up by 8:15 and had more than one person come up to amanda and i standing in the middle of a wet field, soaked to the core asking "is the show going to go on?". it was so wet i was actually able to ring out my bra when i got home. soaked. ironically, the house did not get soaked. not even a drop. poor gardens..... my sneakers, the very ones i have on my feet are still soaked. which is just one more reason to go to the DSW (as if i really needed an excuse) in silver spring with miss colleen to check it out. i need proper walking sneakers, i'm afraid. to start on the new beth b. which, aside from the two cupcakes i had last night in celebration of amanda's birthday, has been going pretty well. oh, and the crack-popcorn at colleen and alicia's while i knitted and watched poor robert get cast out. which was probably the right choice? i would have maybe pitched whomever made that skirt. Um...update? i'm apparently smoking the crack. in my head, between bonnie and robert, i would have sent robert home since i thought bonnie's outfit was marginally better. i thought her porportions were wonky, but the overall look was more successful than roberts. although i still would have canned whomever made the skirt. but i do think robert probably makes for better tv.
ironically, i think vera wang is way too forgiving toward bad stitching. and while i'm careening around the pop culture- snakes on a plane....there is only one way i would go see that movie- armed with those tins of fake peanut brittle and open to let fake snakes pop out. which it should be noted, was once given to me as a present when i was around 6 and i thought it was the funniest thing ever and propbably continue to think so to this day. but anyway, yes. i would go see snakes on a plane if i had a friend or two who would also shoot fake snakes off because i think that would be funny. but i probably won't. also: netflix has foul play which is another movie i loved when i was little. i think my dad showed it to my brothers and i when we were younger and then as the end-of-the-year treat, my 9th grae english teacher showed it to us. i think i learned more from that woman than any teacher i've ever had. i wish i could remember her name.
