sometimes that's just the way it goes

two weeks ago in ellicott city i found a very small, very flat old tape measure from an office supply store in baltimore that listed its phone number as "mulberry 5-3033"
the designer for 'enema of the poop-hole'(not its real title) was apparently fond of it, but wants to use a wooden ruler instead of the gorgeous little measuring tape, but felt free to pocket the measuring tape anyway which kind of broke my heart in that 1) the designer isn't even very nice 2)he weirdly and consistantly smells like mothballs 3) the tape measure says "baltimore maryland" on it and for whatever reason, i've been feeling very nostalgic towards baltimore lately.
anyway, guy got my measuring tape back this morning and i was so happy i almost cried. it's bad to be attached to things. particularly trinkets that merely say 'baltimore maryland' on them.
but sometimes that's just the way it goes.
