you'll always be MCI to me.

i just realized i have 4 tickets to 4 different shows on me right now.
i don't think i've ever had so many advance-purchase tickets at one time ever.
now it's a necessity.

i have the dinosaur jr. which kc kindly picked up for me. i have the thermals and the comedians of comedy tickets that i bought after adams morgan day and today i stopped off at the 9:30 club on my way home to get a hold steady/art brut ticket.
i thought about getting another one incase someone else wanted to go, but then i thought "nah".
plus, if the HS crowd ups the douche-quotient, i can bail.
but seriously, how fun will that show be?
eric told me that there's a richard prince show at the guggenheim until january so if i can't work it in to the trip next weekend, i'll probably just go up to new york by myself and see it.
i saw a guy riding his bike down R today, for a second i thought it might be him, but it wasn't. they go into tech next week. poor chester. but if they can make it 'til opening, the schedule calms down immensely. whomever planned this years schedule was a dumb ass.
three shows built in house on top of each other than then 4.5 months of road shows. good thinking shakespeare.

speaking of shakespeare, one of the last things i did before leaving was pulling a quill and an olde-timey book for some shakespeare photo shoot. i didn't really listen what it was for, but hooo boy, i saw it on the metro platform today. some schmactor dressed as shakespeare holding the feather and the book, saying "happy 10th anniversary verizon center" even 'tho it's probably only been the verizon center for 2 or 3 years. when it opened and then subsequently closed china town down to a block, it was the MCI center. which is what i still call it.
