healthy sense of adventure

There are two people who are incredibly unplesant to deal with that i have to deal with right now. I guess the good thing is, both situations will be done relatively soon-ish.
The shakes. are teching the first show at the new theatre this week. I've been thinking of them a lot. i wonder how it is in the new building. wonder how the two people + one intern doing my job are faring.
I can't say i wouldn't consider it if they offered me my old job back.
There's so much....static at this new one that i'm just not use to. I don't feel like i fit in with government.
but on the other hand, if i was still at shakes, i probably wouldn't have been able to do crafty bastards.
this job definitely makes me appreciate/long for weekends more.
this is going to be a crazy weekend. Colleen and i are taking a chinatown bus (2 am!) to nyc so we'll be in the city around 7am.
the last time she and i did this was about 4 years ago, and i woke up just as the bus was entering the lincoln tunnel so i watched as the bus navigated through chinatown and saw a glowing "WAFFLES" sign. Which we immediately went to. i don't remember it being particularly great, but it was fun. and somehow, we went *everywhere* while taking pictures of a kewpie doll and then went to have a lackluster dinner somewhere in NJ with a friend of mine and saw the tom waits alice in wonderland at the brooklyn academy of music and then back to my friend's apt. in jersey city and then onto a nj transit train in newark at, like 6 am, so my parents could pick us up in trenton and drive us back down to DC where I took them to see artomatic.
whew.
oh, wait. 5 years. that artomatic was in 2002.
this weekend isn't going to be quite as whirlwind. i just hope i don't need to fight my way onto a bus home like i did two or three years ago when i went up for chinese new year and the Cristo opening in the park.
anyway, i have a new camera and two kewpie dolls and some adhesive dots to stick them to things while we photograph them.
and hopefully my sense of adventure is as much in tact as it was 5 years ago.
