tractor man! we remember you!

i finished joan didion's the year of magical thinking last night. I'll save you a review, except to say that I....liked isn't the right word...felt for her maybe. I could see where the book walks a fine line of emotionally engaging and overly privilaged. But it's as elequent and spare a reflection of devastating loss as I think I ever want to get.
Monday/tuesday was the 5 year anniversary of tractor man taking seige on the mall.
I wish i could remember the sign sean put in the back window of his car for tractor man...it was something like "i believe in you tractor man!" or...'you ain't crazy tractor man'. it was something silly and supportive. i rememember jeffrey and collen and i slowly driving by the tractor man stand-off after going to ihop. it was kind of dumb and snarled traffic badly for a few days, but i wish more stuff like tractor-man happened in this city.
