i want all that stupid old shit, like turtle races and hog calling

I had a really good day today. A really good day. We met the artists who were selected for the mural sites and the panel chose 4 people that I liked very much. One is going to require a lot of hand holding, but it's ok.
Also? I love the architect we're working with from the design company. Aside from the fact that architecture is just about the coolest thing in the entire world, he showed up today wearing a bow tie and sun glasses and was edward herman's twin brother. He even talks like him when he was on the gilmore girls. which reminds me, i still really miss the gilmore girls. probably more than i should admit but i find myself actually sometimes thinking "man, i miss loreli gilmore".

this weekend i'm taking a day trip with a friend and all i really wanted was somewhere to pick my own apples. i've been fixated on it, really. and D recommed Berkeley springs, WV as a short get away and when I looked it up, it said there was an apple butter festival all weekend and i said SOLD! My only regret is we're just going sunday so we'll miss the turtle races and the moustache contest. We will, however, be present for the hog-calling contest.
I swear to god, the whole thing is so earnest and wholesome and just what I wanted. plus, the drive there will be beautiful and it's just going to be nice to get out of town.
