a month of fall crammed into one day.
yesterday colleen and i fit an absurd amount of fall celebratin' into one day. Berkeley springs is indeed cute, but I would maybe like to go back when there's not 10,000 people and 5,000 bees all queing up for apple butter. the hog calling was more fun to watch than i thought it would be and we stumbled upon a farm on the way back that had a corn maze and hay rides that delivered you to and from the pumpkin patch where you could infact yank yours off the vine. unlike a place near my house growing up that did the cutting for you, and then placed them around the field. the farm itself was kinda....ok, i loved it. i'm scheming to see whose kids i can borrow to go back. for $9 you can bounce on this huge jumping pillow and there's slides and hay rides and mazes (both corn and non)and pig races and this cute "pumpkin train" for kids and a thing that looks like it launches apples and other small produce into a field and maybe a petting zoo...yeah, so i'm sorry, but i loved it. on the hayride out to the patch the little kid we sat next to kept beaming "the back is the BESTEST!" because it was bumpy. and colleen had him convinced she saw something in the field so I said "i bet it's the great pumpkin!". no point in not trying to screw up someone else's kid. tomorrow i officially become a DC gov't employee. so, i don't necessarily think congrats are in order...but i do need to probably find documents saying i'm who i say i am. i can't find my passport which is probably a problem. i just found my ss# card, so maybe that's good.
