magic

there's a suburb of DC called 'De1 R@y' and....and....and i kind of love it.
People who live there love their bungalows so much (SO MUCH) they're largely in tact. And there's a cheese shop where they didn't have parano, but they had wasabi gouda. And whiskey cheddar and....oh....so many delicious looking cheeses and wines and beers. And there's an australian butcher with a little meat shop. And a place that sells custard and cookies. And an arts center. and a coffee shop. and a place that sells handmade stuff. and an art gallery (that actually looks not so good) but oh my lord. is it cute. it's stars hollow without the gazebo. although there's probably one somewhere. there's a red caboose next to the elementary school which is next to the library which just had a green roof put on it.
(i mean ecological and living, not like, patina'd copper green)
oh my god, so cute.
i bought a piece of meat to cast for the meat sampling process for WF.
Last night I saw M Ward (finally) at the 6th and I synagogue. Having never been there before I was super sceptical since, it's you know, a synagogue. There's just something very weird to me about seated shows. they feel so passive. Just sit on down, fold your hands quietly in your lap and nod along to the nice rock music kids!
Vivian girls were cute but would have fared better at a smaller, more intimate venue. M ward sounded great by himself. when the band was added, the sound wasn't as good, but it wasn't bad. The worst really was seeing him, three other dudes all playing guitar kinda crammed into this tiny stage with a piano, keybooards and a drum kit. I'm really surprised no one got whacked with another persons headstock.
i am going to sound like a complete twit for saying this, but there is something kinda magical about seeing his voice come out of that mouth.
on the way home on the street i randomly ran into cute art handler, he walked pastme and i saw him looking at the record and i yelled his name and he turned around and ran back and gave me a drunk hug. when he asked what i was up to i should have said something better than 'home'.
