the things i'll do for coffee. and sunflowers

i went to an arts festival in frederick MD and found myself thinking more than a few times "i wonder if i could live here". I also wonder how many people fall into the carrol creek canal because i will eat my hat if there is more than 8 feet of clearance between most of the artist tents vending their stuff and the murky (kinda gross) canal (dead fish floating: at least one)
it was a fun day that started with a 'colonial farm' ($3) that had a hig reenactor-to-visitor ratio (8 visitors to 9 reenactors) I have a kinda....um...fear...of reenactors. I just do.So when the guy from the tabacco barn tried to wave us in, i waved back and said "no thanks!" and kept walking. Hey, i told the youngest one (who was probably 8, are you listening child labor people?) 'hi! Nice turkeys' because she was walking wild turkeys. by far the wirdest thing there were the two girls with sticks poking at the geese to get them in the water "They don't like the water" they said amidst poking. I swear the geese were looking at us with pleading beady eyes to take them with us. there were however some really beautiful chickens. Really beautiful. And not many. One rooster, two baby roosters and two chickens. i was afraid to go into the little house because i didn't want to see other chickens hanging in there. they probably didn't have any but i didn't want to chance it.
at butler's orchard we picked peas and strawberries (and got the mini cooper stuck in the mud) (also, we were some of the only non-indians there. it was very strange.)i am able to shove a mini cooper out of the mud. i am a beast.
frederick was hot and i had a sweater and got dehydrated and felt dizzy. also: funnel cake.
Also, i got a new bag! Also, we stole coffee from this place that use to be a nice little diner what chester and i would go to , complete with meatloaf and old ladies. now it's a trendy eatery (although my grilled cheese was good) with probably the worst service ever and colleen and i were kinda bad and we swiped a can of illy coffee.
sorry karma.
afterwards i don't really remember stuff. countryside. a lot of it. driving. a lot of it.
today rodger is coming over and planting some sunflower seedlings in my back yard.
