bethb's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- no bath for betty New theme in my life: Water- and lack thereof Yesterday, you may remember our fearless heroine sweaty and dusty from cleaning up the shop encounters a watermain break at work- no prob. Water at home. She skips the bubblebath because of the monsoon she was caught in on the way home delayed her and the remaining events of the evening. She did make it home in time for her friend who happened to be driving by, to hop in her car and head on out to the National Airport to help gather up the mom. The mom's plane was late so Our Fearless Herione (i don't know why i am writing about myself in the third person, but i think i'll keep it up for a little bit)and her Wunder-Freund encounter a delayed plane. So the trepidaciously explore the Airport. Awesome. Totally. I would be totally content to hop on the metro and head on out to national and just watch planes take off and land for an evening. I don't know why, but i just love airports... except the kennedy/TWA terminal in NYC. that thing is just scary and the architect should be hung by his anklebones. who was it? Saarinen or something right? god i'm an architecture geek. So lea's mom and her niece flew in last night. We all finished packing lea up and vaccumed and rug-doctor steamed everything this morning. Amazing machine that rug doctor thing. Seriously. I hope whomever invented that won a nobel prize. They're on the way up to Pa now.(lea and her mom- not the rug-doctor-steam-thing-inventor) Stopping at Chris' house. i think they'll have to spend the night. it makes sense. I wish i got to see chris more. she's like my older sister....except i don't have one. But if i did have one, she would definately be like christine, because christine likes red patent leather shoes like i do, and i like mission of burma like she does. And we're both short. And we're both from Bucks County Pa. See how perfect that is? I KNOW! Oh! and so today, after i've swept and cleaned and steamed and loaded everything in lea's apartment, i go home and guess what? No FLIPPIN WATER! Is the man tryin' to keep me al skanky and nasty? No matter...i can run some errands for work and just be home by 6 to bathe and stuff. Contrary to popular belief- i like to smell and look like a girl. Jeffrey and sean are going to write sometime for my zine. They 're not sure what they should write, except maybe an article in response to my pink article about 'why they like liberated carpenter women'. funny funny funny. i am glad i work with them. 20:04:56 - 2000-06-03 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
