bethb's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- our quilt i'm in the middle of assembling a quilt right now. my boss was watching TV and saw a special on this woman from Iowa named Betty, who thought it would be nice to create a quilt for every family of a september 11 victim. i liked this idea. money i don't so much have, but blood and ok. sewing skills i can do. so 19 people who work for the shakespeare theatre each made a square and now i'm putting them all together. i'm hoping becky comes back soon, because her sewing skills are much better than mine. i'm actually really happy and excited with the way it's coming out. i sent an email out (from my boss' account) about this, and people who never even picked up a needle volunteered to make a square! it's great! i was so excited to see them all come back. i made up 19 packets of fabric scraps and xeroxed some information and basic pattern things from sme books i had. chester's afraid the quilt's too "ecclectic". i think by that, he's afraid it's looking rough. but i think it's beautiful. it's nice when 19 people can come together and do something nice for someone. except, i'm going to be really upset if someday i'm thrifting in northern virginia and find this thing at a good will (we're going to request that our quilt go to a family of a pentagon victim) 4:57 p.m. - 2001-12-03 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
