bethb's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- i'm in love with david wilson's nose Oh what a happy happy weekend! Friday was pretty...um...exasperating. But we got through it...The deputy Prime Minister of Russia decided to breeze through his embassy, and i dunno if he just didn't want to look at a lot of grubby americans draping everything that isn't nailed down in red velour and gold damask or whether or not we were an actual bona fide security risk or what, but every hour the schedule changed... especially when we were greeted by the event's 'designer' telling us to hold off with stuff, the whole event might have to be cencelled. yep. oh the hilarity and hijinks at the russian embassy... so saturday we weren't allowed into the building until 2, so i went hard-core girlie shoppin' and bought me a skirt (and a dress which is getting returned today) thinking i had sufficently cute clothes, i decided to go to georgetowne for some pre-hoi polloi shopping. went into a cosmetic store for the rich and trendy (neither of which i am, so i felt out of place) and WHAT is up with the one-black-glove-thang? anyhows, i bought some sparkely powder in a HUGE puffy-puff. and on my travles up wisconsin, towards the embassy, i had to pass the gap...some sort of somethin' brewin' outside which i find out the next day some nekkid guy sportin' some strategically placed palm leaves was protesting. now, i must admit, i don't know much about the labor practices of the gap...don't like the gap, don't wear the gap...but i'm all for gettin' that ugly store off of the street. where was i? Oh! so worked like a demon from 2:30-5:30...sean, jeffrey and i ran to sean's house which was kinda close, all got changed, boys in tuxes, me in my sweater which my friend grahm told my was the softest thing he's ever felt in his life...which made me happy, but boy was i shedding. had a massively painful headache, downed three advil in the car on the way there, and two rum and cokes while at the event...i think i was on my first wine while i'm in the recieving line which is about (no lie) 19 miles long. finally get to the man of the hour and beth hauptle asks me if i'd like my picture taken with sir hopkins, and i say sure....somethin' to send to the parents y'know? although my grampa is gonna be like 'why are you at the prom with this old man?' if i had *any* web savy at all, prehaps i could post it, but i dunno how to do *any* of this html stuff...so pfffft so i was drunk and slowly easing out of pain (the headache was SO bad i seriously thought my eyeball was going to fly out of it's socket) the dinner was amazing and yummy...some sort of something stuffed with duck as an appetizer and then sea bass for the main course. went to a party at sean's house afterwards, stayed out until 3 am. came home, went to sleep, woke up, went to a meeting for a show i'm doing at a theatre that has no money and it's looking pretty grim, and then i went to a show at Kansass in Arlington to watch the most secret method and telegraph melts play, and a bunch of little freshman boys from GW called buzhenna (?) who show an amazing amount of promise and a short interesting video by a boy called david wilson who wins the award for "Cutest boy beth has seen in a long long long while" he had the most amazing nose i wanted to draw it. infact, he reminded me of a hottie patottie from a drawing class my senior year of college ...i wonder what ever happened to orion.... must find out... anyway, most secret rocked, as they always do, but telegraph melts are calling it quits!!!!!!!!! that makes me sad... but at the same time, i can't beleive how glad i am that i got to sit on the floor in apprechiative rapture listening to amy and bob. 09:24:15 - 2000-04-17 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
