up with LOVE. a love letter to Unrest and mine friends

i'm sitting here, listening to unrest with butterflies in my stomach and it feels good to be in love with music again.
it also feels good to have this on CD again. i never replaced my copy when it was stolen in the Great Prop Shop Break-In of 2001.
I have the super beautiful boxed 7" version of this record, which really, is a kinda brilliant way to release this album, but i can't play the rekkids in my car. and i always thought i would happen upon a used copy in a store, but you see, the kids are too smart for that. they too know that to listen to this record is to be in love.
how did i find this copy? i was flipping through the cd's le mari brought in to work.
so i'm sitting here, listening to unrest with butterflies in my stomach because yes, it does feel good to be in love with music again, and because from the hair on my head to the polish on my toes, i CAN'T FUCKING BELIEVE i will be seeing unrest. tomorrow!
miss amanda is admitting me as her guest so i even get to go fer free. talk about wishes granted.
there are other wishes to be granted but for right now i will happily accept lying on the floor listening to this record and digging my toes into the carpet.

also in beth b. land, there's a contest being held by arlington (speaking of Unrest) county to design a mini-golf hole. I've somehow cranked out two proposals and they're both actually pretty killer. i'm very very happy. i think i'm well on my way to being blake gopnik's worst nightmare.
I also spent the 3 day weekend in some of the best ways possible.
dozing on the couch. doing crossword puzzles. coffee with friends. parties where new bands played and were delightfully, unexpectedly good. (seriously...Harem? AWESOME) friends were seen. i was awkward as usual. sunday craft fest with colleen where we devoured most of 3 pizzas and EIGHT fing hours of 'project runway' which i still think i might kill to be on. and monday i drew and watched curb your enthusiasm and cleaned. a little.
actually, my bathroom is pretty spectacular right now.
so yay me.it's 12:30 and i am not sleepy in the least. it's christmas eve type of excitement. it's christmas eve and everything feels good and i've been in a good creative streak lately and the city feels good and my friends are amazing. deanna, colleen, alicia, ryan, amanda, sean, all of them. amazing.
love love love all the way around.
